WoW WotLK Classic: How to defeat Malygos in the Eye of Eternity (10s/25s)

WoW WotLK Classic: Librarian Serrah sends you to Corastrasza.

When Phase 1 of WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic kicks off on October 7th, 2022, he will be the quasi-final boss in Northrend for a short period of time: Malygos, the great blue, the aspect of magic, the leader of the blue dragonflight. The combat is demanding and tricky, because you can expect mechanics that have not existed on the Classic servers until now. In the 10-player or 25-player version you need the following group composition to defeat Malygos:

10er setup: One tank! The tank should be buffed to at least 30,000 life points. Which tank class you choose is up to you. For the 25 variant you need at least two tanks to control the helpers in the second phase.
10er setup: Two healers! This is where druids and holy priests come in, who can cast spontaneous area healing spells. Paladins help out with holy shields. For the 25 variant you need five to six healers.
10er setup: Six damage classes! You are completely free in your choice of damage dealers. For the 25 variant Of course, you fill up the free spaces with additional damage classes.

Access quest, entrance and achievements

There is no access quest for Malygos, but you need a key to start the fight. The Key of Focusing Iris drops Dragon Saphiron in Naxxramas. The key starts a quest that you turn in to Alexstrasza in Wyrmrest Temple. By the way: For the 25-man version you need it Heroic Key of the Focusing Iris. It is sufficient if a player in the raid is in possession of the door opener. You can find the entrance to the Eye of Eternity above the Occulus entrance in the Nexus (Borean Tundra, coordinates: 28,27). Not untypical for a fight against a dragon the tryst with Malygos is divided into three phasesall of which require entirely different tactics.

Our tip for phase 3: You can practice the dragon ride and the appropriate rotation very well if you complete the daily quest Battle in the Clouds at Corastrasza (Borean Tundra, coordinates: 28, 26) accept and Fighting Oathscale dragons on a red dragon using the skills of the Malygos Vanquisher. Make sure to always hover over a platform to avoid dying from fall damage if you lose the dragon. The short quest line starts at the Transitus Shield with the quest Corastrasza from Librarian Serrah.
