The well-known text-to-image generator DALL-E2 can now be used free of charge by everyone. Developer OpenAI announced this in a blog post. Previously, you had to put yourself on a waiting list for the AI-supported image generator.

For quite some time, it has been a new internet trend to create images and artworks using AI-powered image generators. You simply enter any text description and the artificial intelligence (AI) then creates the image. DALL-E 2 from developer OpenAI was such a powerful text-to-image generator with amazing results. DALL-E 2 can now be used by everyone free of charge.

So far, DALL-E 2 could only be used to a limited extent. Anyone wanting to use the text-to-image generator had to join a waiting list and wait their turn for an invite link. Developer OpenAI is now announcing on its official blog that DALL-E 2 can now be used free of charge by any user without a queue. All you need is an email address and a password for free registration. However, if you would like the registration code to be sent to you, you also need a mobile phone number.

However, the free use of DALL-E 2 has a small catch. Since the technology behind it is quite resource-intensive, you get a total of 50 picture sets per registration in the first month. Every additional month, users get 15 more text-to-image conversions. OpenAI also states that they have implemented extensive security filters in the public version of DALL-E2 to prevent misuse of the technology. So you want to put a stop to pornographic or violent content. Most recently, a total of 1.5 million users had access to the image generator.
