Playstation VR2: Sony plans high sales – News

Sony is apparently very confident in the success of the new Playstation VR2 headset. At least that’s what the latest rumors suggest. According to a Bloomberg report, there is inside information that mass production has started in September and that two million devices will be available at launch and will find buyers in the first three months.

Since the manufacturing process has so far not had any problems with components or materials, there is nothing standing in the way of this goal, at least on the production side. In terms of the hoped-for sales, it seems very ambitious, especially when you look at the sales figures of the previous model. The PSVR therefore needed eight months to bring one million devices to the customer. In comparison, the most successful VR headset ever, the Meta Quest 2, managed to convince 2.8 million buyers in the first quarter of sales.

The Playstation VR2 is scheduled for release in early 2023. An exact release date has not yet been mentioned, as has the target sales price.
