CD Projekt RED confirms new trilogy of its franchise The Witcher

will not be exclusive to the Epic Games Store

Today CD Projekt RED revealed its long-term game production plans. A big part of that includes several new Witcher titles, with the start of a new trilogy.

The next previously teased entry in The Witcher appears to be Project Polaris, a story-driven open-world RPG built on top of the “legacy” from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CD Projekt confirms that it is in pre-production, with CD Projekt Red developing.

Polaris will act as the starting point for a new Witcher trilogy. And all three games in the trilogy aim to be delivered within a six-year period, after the release of Polaris.

However, this isn’t the only new Witcher story in production. In 2021, CD Projekt acquired The Flame in the Flood, developer of The Molasses Flood. The team is now working on Project Sirius, a “groundbreaking” take on The Witcher universe for fans new and old. Sirius is also in pre-production, with the support of CD Projekt Red.

On top of that, there is also another game in the works. Project Canis Majoris is in development at a third-party studio run by former Witcher veterans. It is planned to be a single-player, story-driven, open-world RPG set in The Witcher universe. Basically, there’s a lot of Witcher coming from CD Projekt.
