Horizon Zero Dawn: Remaster and multiplayer game reportedly in the works

The sequel was only released earlier this year when the news of a remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn made the rounds. A separate multiplayer game will also follow.

That reported at least currently MP1st citing a source close to the development but not named. There hasn’t been an official announcement yet, which is why you have to assume it’s a rumor. But if there is something to it, then Guerrilla Games is planning a prettied version for the PlayStation 5. The main improvements are textures, animations, light and character models, which are to be adapted to those of the sequel Horizon Forbidden West.

Horizon Zero Dawn: Remaster or remake?

According to the report, however, it is not yet entirely clear whether it is actually “only” a remaster or rather a remake developed from scratch, such as The Last of Us Part 1.

Among other innovations, the accessibility modes of the sequel are to be installed as well as various graphics options. It is not known to what extent the gameplay is also directly screwed – whether the flying sun wings and the glider appear is unclear, but should be rather unlikely due to their embedding in Forbidden West. The Dual Sense Controller could be used adequately for this.

An update for Horizon Zero Dawn was released some time ago, which means that the game runs at a stable 60 FPS on the PS5. There hasn’t been an official PS5 port yet. A PC port has also been released.

Multiplayer game apparently in the works

A multiplayer game is also to be created for the Horizon brand. Notes on such plans made already in 2021 in the form of job advertisements, now the project seems to be taking shape. This is currently being created for PS5 and PC and will include a coop mode, among other things. Further details are not yet known.

Exciting new releases are in store for die-hard fans as well as any newcomers to Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. In addition, Horizon Call of the Mountain, a VR game for the brand, will soon be released. First impressions of this have already been published.
