Steam Deck has shipped over a million units

During the Akadamy conference 2022KDE’s David Edmundson talked about the KDE desktop environment and Steam Deck. According to Gaming On Linux, Edundson’s talk included the first real indication of how successful the Steam Deck has been for Valve, as well as the Linux operating system.

During the talk, Edmundson also mentions that Valve has shipped over a million steam decks. Considering how tight Valve tends to be, this would be the first real indication of the popularity and success of the handheld gaming system.

Success for the Steam Deck appears to be underway, as Valve recently revealed that its pre-order numbers for the system’s launch in Japan have been “better than originally expected.”
