Fortnite Adds Rocket League In-Game Vehicles

Fortnite seemingly has it all these days. TheRock. Indiana Jones. Ripley from Alien. Now, he has the Rocket League car.

At least this collaboration makes sense: both Rocket League maker Psyonix and Fortnite are products of Epic Games, which has worked in the past to bring its two audiences together.

You can now drive Rocket League’s most famous vehicle, the Octane, within Fortnite. Unsurprisingly, it behaves like it would on a Rocket League field, capable of accelerating to high speeds and quickly climbing walls.

Perhaps unusually, Epic has decided not to go ahead and simply add the car to the main Fortnite battle royale modes at present. Perhaps this would be too chaotic, at a time when a meta full of one-hit snipers and rapidly evolving Chrome shotguns are already giving me enough of a headache.

Instead, Octane is now available to be added to maps and creative modes – essentially, the game’s sandbox offering where people can freely create their own mini-games.
