NZXT N7: B650E motherboard for Ryzen 7000 will be expensive

from Maximilian Hohm
NZXT has introduced the N7 B650E for Socket AM5. The mainboard uses the B650E chipset, is properly equipped and should cost 429.99 euros. In return, the buyers receive a fully clad mainboard with color matching, PCI-E 5.0 for the graphics card and SSD, as well as WLAN and much more. Therefore, read more about the new mainboard below and the price for which the direct predecessor is available.

The volume manufacturers have now presented a good part of their B650 and B650E boards. Many manufacturers have continued previous series and added the new AM5 circuit boards. Most mainboards now offer at least 2.5G LAN sockets, two or more M.2 connectors and powerful power supplies. Although these upgrades can be found more or less with all manufacturers, one can expect that all prices for the mainboards will increase sharply.

B650(E): Asus, MSI, Gigabyte and Asrock show their motherboards for Ryzen 7000

Asus and MSI have already presented the pricing and given unsightly security. At MSI, the prices are currently still in US dollars, but a minimum price of 189 USD for an M-ATX model with a B650 chipset is still steep. Asus can increase this even further and hasn’t even planned an RRP of less than 200 euros so far. According to previous information, the cheapest model should be the Prime B650M-A, again a Micro-ATX model with the basic chipset.

Not only Asus and MSI in the high-end sector show that things can get worse, but also NZXT with the new N7 B650E. The fully clad mainboard should actually cost 429.99 euros. It offers a 16+2+1-phase design for the power supply, but incomprehensibly only an eight-pin and a four-pin connection. There is also a WiFi 6E module, Bluetooth V5.2, three M.2 slots, a 2.5G LAN port and a Realtek ALC 1220.

<div class=

As usual with the B650E and X670E, both the NVMe SSD and the graphics card can be operated with PCI-E 5.0, but only one slot is addressed with it. In addition to the usual audio sockets and the connections for the WLAN antennas, the I/O shield also has an HDMI connection, a BIOS flash and a clear CMOS button, four USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A and one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C.

The NZXT N7 B650E is not yet available and not listed in the PCGH price comparison. Like the new mainboard, the “predecessor model”, the NZXT N7 B550, is fully covered and available in black and white, but only costs 430 euros instead 209 euros and supports all Zen 3 processors, which can still be played properly. An N7 B650 without E has not yet been announced.
