One of the largest MMO studios is changing hands for €642 million

My.Games is sold. The studio owns popular MMO games such as Skyforge, Allods Online, Warface and Conqueror’s Blade. In the deal, 642 million euros go over the table.

Previously, My.Games belonged to VK Company and Mail.ru Group. In a post on their website, they now announced that the gaming company is being sold. The buyer is Aleksander Chachava from LETA Capital. Both are Russian companies. LETA offered 642 million for the company including all games.

LETA Capital is a technology focused capital firm. They invest in video games, but also in new technologies such as AIs.

What does VK say? After the sale, VK Company intends to continue developing its own games and publishing them in Russia. “VK will continue to develop its own gaming services and market them under the VK Play brand in Russia.”

However, Vladimir Nikolskiy, a co-founder of My.Games, will stay with the sold company and thus leave VK. The games are not completely in the hands of strangers.

Acitivision Blizzard was also sold – to Microsoft.

What will change for the games sold? Nothing changes for the time being – especially because Nikolskiy is sticking with it. We don’t know yet whether the new owners are planning future changes for one of the MMOs or other games from My.Games.

What do you think of the sale of My.Games? What do you think of the sum that was paid for it? Do you know the two companies? Do you play one of the games and are now afraid of possible changes? Write it to us in the comments here on MeinMMO!
