Overwatch 2 officially released – that’s in the patch

Overwatch 2: Kiriko is a support hero for DPS players (1)

Overwatch 2 was officially released yesterday. Unfortunately, not everything went smoothly with the launch. For one thing, there were probably issues with players who merged their Overwatch account with the console version, causing them to either lose all progress or not get into the game at all. Blizzard also suffered from a massive DDoS attack, which led to long queues and constant disconnections.

It’s all in the first patch for Overwatch 2

Things have calmed down a bit now, but getting into the game still poses a challenge in some cases. So a good chance to familiarize yourself with the Overwatch 2 patch notes so that nothing catches you by surprise when you finally make it into the game.

Most of the major changes, such as the switch to a 5v5 format, the three new heroes, and the new game mode “Boost,” will have been heard by most, but Overwatch 2 brings thousands of new voices, among other things -Lines, updated skins, and an overhauled sound design. By the way, when it comes to skins, the standard appearance of the heroes has also received an overhaul. If you prefer the old design, you can switch to “Overwatch 1” in the skins tab.

In addition, each role now has a special passive ability, ranked mode has been revamped, loot boxes have been removed and replaced with a Battle Pass, and there are also various challenges in the game that allow players to earn experience points and Overwatch Coins.

The OWL side has not yet made it into the game with the release, and players cannot yet access the workshop either. These will probably be delivered in a later update. Additionally, with Overwatch 2, attack cards have now been removed from the rotation for all rosters, but can still be found in custom games. There is also no more general chat, and the group search has simply been removed.
