Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Arcane and Resident Evil: Video game series adaptations are all the rage. The horror title The Medium from the Polish development studio Bloober Team is now to be filmed.
The Medium as a series: Producer of the Witcher series on Netflix is on board
The Medium writer Piotr Babieno said: “Both the film and video game industries are close to my heart and I’m very happy to finally have the opportunity to bring the two together. The story we told in the game was appreciated by many players and now even more people will experience it.”
Platige Image has been in business for 25 years, including being involved in the fairytale intro sequence of Resident Evil Village and producing cinematic trailers for Dying Light 2 and Dishonored. Tomasz Baginski, producer of the first season of The Witcher on Netflix and the animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, is also on board with The Medium series. A reason to celebrate, says Babieno:

“Having someone like Tomasz Baginski, such an important figure in Polish cinematography, oversee the project creatively proves that we want to create something really great. The whole team working on the concept of the series feels like they are working on something really special. We hope that enthusiasm will be reflected in the quality of the series.”
What is Bloober Team working on right now?
After Bloober Team has been the subject of rumors surrounding an alleged Silent Hill remake in the past, the Polish studio revealed at this year’s Summer Game Fest that they are giving their in-house horror series Layers of Fear a new coat of paint.
The new story chapter The Final Note was recently presented at Gamescom, which, in addition to the technical improvements such as ray tracing and 4K, should make the new edition equally attractive for newcomers and those who have experienced horror. Layers of Fears is slated for release in early 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
