Modern Warfare 2: New PC gameplay accidentally released too early

Call of Duty: Activision's player base falls below 100 million again in 2023 with premium content

Originally, only the launch trailer should have been published for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – but Activision accidentally posted more video material on Twitter.

Is this still a leak or already calculated advertising? As initially announced, Activision yesterday uploaded the launch trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to YouTube and shows further insights into the upcoming first-person shooter. The video material shows the usual spectacular staging of the campaign: the excerpts range from close fighting between houses to helicopter launches and show the skirmishes against a Mexican drug cartel.

However, in addition to the official launch trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, other video material that was not intended for the public has also surfaced. This time, however, there was no external attack, as was the case with the gigantic GTA 6 leak, for example – publisher Activision itself has uploaded another PC trailer to its official Twitter channel and shown scenes that will probably only be published at a later date should.

The video clip was quickly deleted from the Twitter account by Activision, indicating that this was actually not a planned release. However, the leaked material about Modern Warfare 2 is still buzzing around on the web and can also be found on Twitter, among other things, where various users have published the entire PC trailer with the new information.

In the trailer, which is probably only intended for the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, there are new indications of the technical details of the shooter. So Nvidia’s ray tracing doesn’t seem to get any support, at least in the campaign. This should include native support for 4K and ultrawide monitors. Two previously unknown missions can also be seen: a sniper mission based on the original Modern Warfare as well as night battles will take place.
