A new Twitter feature that users have been waiting for has finally been added: it’s now possible different media types in one tweet to post. Now, for example, images, GIFs, and videos can all be tweeted at the same time to reflect a certain mood or create a comedic effect.

The meme scene didn’t need to be told the latter twice and promptly came up with a new one meme trend on, which is currently flooding the messenger platform.

Finally: New Twitter feature lets you use different media in one tweet

Twitter is now rolling out a new feature that allows users to post images, videos, and GIFs in a single tweet. Previously, the platform only allowed one type of media format to be included in a post, such as multiple images.

While you can currently see the new mixed media tweets on all platforms, these can only be posted from iOS and Android devices at this time. It is not yet known when the feature will appear for Windows and Mac. The new feature allows you to up to four individual media elementsconsisting of images, videos and GIFs, to post in a tweet.

How to create a mixed media post

That’s how it’s done: It’s pretty easy to create a mixed media post on Twitter: just do it as usual and tap the blue plus sign in the bottom right corner of the app to create a tweet. In the tweet editor, you can now do whatever you want select up to four media typesby tapping the appropriate buttons.

Resurrected: Meme trend floods Twitter

This new way of getting creative in the tweets has not only given users the opportunity to express themselves better visually, but also a real one meme trend started. For that, a well-known meme revived and integrated into the new format.

The bandwidth of the new feature is fully exploited: With the new tile image format, all four media fields can be used so that it appears as if Pope Francis is holding various objects in sincere reverence. This makes for some interesting combinations. We’ve added a few examples of the “sacred” meme trend below for you to enjoy:
