Street Fighter 6: Closed Beta – First Impressions

Street Fighter 6: Closed Beta. Definitely a very good sample of what is to come

We played the Street Fighter 6 Closed Beta and it’s definitely been a fantastic experience.

the quality of the game was quite good, but this Beta shines for practically everything, from the presentation, the stage, the good performance online, the number of modes, in short, it was quite a show.

Fighter 6 feels fantastic. It’s hard-hitting, fast-paced, and powered by the excellent Drive system that opens up a whole world of new tools and options for each character.

We have the Drive Rush which by using three bars of your Drive meter, you can use Drive Rush to cancel certain attacks to continue a combo. I mean, if you had to hit an opponent at mid-range with a push that wouldn’t normally combine with anything, I could use a Drive Rush cancel to launch myself and turn a combo into something that normally wouldn’t be possible.

We also have the Drive Impact. Which is an extremely powerful punch that can cut through up to three normal hits to deal a devastating blow that will flatten an enemy and leave them wide open for a full combo.

I have no doubt that it is an extraordinarily powerful technique, but we still have ways to counter it. Its slow start feels long enough to react to, and if you’re able to respond to it, you can use your own Drive Impact to absorb its hit and punish the enemy with your own full combo.

He can also jump and smite, parry and smite, or if you can hit him three times fast enough, you can break his armor and smite.

In the Closed Beta we had about 8 fighters to test: Ryu, Chun-Li, Jamie, Luke, Kimberly, Juri, Ken and Guile,

Among them I can say: Ken is very different from his Street Fighter 5 incarnation, two completely new moves, a new command execution that alters the properties of several of his special moves, and apparently less reward for being absolutely reckless, as many Ken used to. be in Street Fighter 6.

Juri has had some pretty substantial changes to the way she plays: she no longer has to build charges to use certain special moves; instead, he builds charges to upgrade them.

One thing that really impresses me about Street Fighter 6 is the Street Fighter 6 Battle Hub: an online hub where players can create their own avatar and wander around a virtual arcade, get on a game cabinet, challenge another player or just claim a cabinet of your own and wait for someone to challenge you. This is definitely a start for something that can become quite big.

In Street Fighter 6 we have a store for you to buy things using the currency you earn playing, we also have a section where you can play classic Capcom games and another section where you can play the special Extreme Mode.

Definitely based on what I saw in this Beta version, I can only say: I’m pretty excited to play the full game.
