FIFA 23: The final part of the series breaks the launch record

The latest FIFA from Electronic Arts is the most successful start of the series: unsurprisingly for the publisher, FIFA 23 is a great success. However, it is once again slightly larger than previously assumed, as the company itself says in a press release announces.

In the first week since release, over 10.3 million players have logged into FIFA 23. This year’s offshoot has thus achieved a new record, because never before has a FIFA start been more successful.

FIFA 23: Update with World Cups in development

Of course, EA is happy about the satisfactory success: “The reaction from our fans was simply incredible and we are thrilled that our community is playing with their favorite players and teams in FIFA 23 in record numbers,” said Nick Woldyka, General Manager of EA Sports.

The development team is also already working on the upcoming content update, especially related to the Men’s and Women’s World Cup. Then you should be able to replay the respective major events in FIFA 23. In addition, more updates are in the works for women’s football.

FIFA will soon no longer be called FIFA

The record message for FIFA 23 also heralds a farewell tour: From next year, EA’s football game will no longer bear the name FIFA. The publisher simply could not agree on an extension of the name license with the world football association.

From next year, the football series will only be called EA Sports FC. The countless club and player licenses should remain on board, as EA revealed a few months ago.

And this year? Well, FIFA 23 is still impressive, as our detailed test will tell you.
