PlayStation fans can now sign up for PlayStation Stars. This is a loyalty program that rewards you with digital collectibles or points for completing campaigns. You can exchange the points in a shop for a variety of rewards, including PlayStation credit and full versions of games. We’ll tell you how to complete the first tasks.

Login to PlayStation Stars

In order to participate in PlayStation Stars at all, you must first register for the program. This is done optionally via the PlayStation website or the PlayStation App for Android and iOS.

The best thing to do is to use the app immediately, as you can register via the Internet browser, but you will not receive any information about the tasks there and you cannot access the bonus shop either. PlayStation Stars can currently only be controlled via the app.

First campaigns and how to complete them

In the PlayStation app you will see an icon in the top right that shows you your PlayStation Stars level. Click on it, then you are in the overview of PlayStation Stars. You will then find the available “campaigns” directly on the first page. These are tasks you must complete to earn digital collectibles and points.

The first campaigns are as follows:

  • This day is completely banana: Play a game of your choice on PS4 or PS5. As a reward, you will receive a Banana Boomerang collectible figure. The campaign is only valid for one day, so until October 14th!
  • October check-in: Play your choice of game on PS4 or PS5 in October. As a reward, the Tyrannosaurus Rex waves from the iconic PS1 tech demo as a collectible.
  • World Warrior Online Challenge: Play an online match in Street Fighter VUltimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat 11 or Tekken 7. As a reward you will receive a collector’s figure of a cute cat. PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can complete the quest quite simply, Mortal Kombat 11 is available for you to download from the Games Catalog!
  • Press Play/1994: Here you have to start games matching song hints. These are Death Stranding (Baby I Love Your Way x Go West), Returnal (Stay x Circle of Life), Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (Mr. Jones x Regulate), Detroid: Become Human (More Human Than Human), Until Dawn (Wild Night) and Heavy Rain (Streets of Philadelphia). All games are included in PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium. As a reward you will receive the digital representation of a portable cassette recorder from 1982.

It can happen that completed tasks are only recognized by the app after 30 to 60 minutes. So don’t be surprised if you have to wait a little for your collectibles!

No point tasks yet: As of now, there are no ways to earn points towards other rewards, unless you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber who spends in the store. Be it for games, DLCs, films or even microtransactions (e.g. weapon skins in Call of Duty: Warzone).
