The fact that the engineers in WoW: Dragonflight can again revive fellow players during the fight is no surprise and has long been clear. However, in the past few weeks, the developers have decided to massively revise the way Battle Rezz is done. Because there will be no item on the Dragon Islands that is made by Ingis and needed for revival. Instead, the Battle Rezz is now a so-called tinkering – the Tinkering: arc light vital correctors.
The special thing about the tinkering is that it is not a matter of usable items or toys. Instead, the tinkering can be packed into special sockets on your equipment, similar to a jeweler’s gem. Henceforth, this item then has a use function according to the tinkering.
In and of itself, that sounds reasonable and not bad. But there is a big catch. There is almost no equipment with such tinker sockets. More specifically, you can carry a maximum of two of them. And whether you really want to do that remains to be seen.
Tinkerer’s Pedestal – only on Engineer BoP items
So far, there are only two categories of items that have tinker sockets on them. In addition to the well-known Ingi glasses (e.g.: Battle Ready Binoculars) the bases are also on the bracers (e.g.: Unnecessarily complex wrist guards) that Ingis can craft in Dragonflight. Both types are also bind-on-pickup, meaning they can only be used by the engineer himself. (The exception is the lower-quality glasses, whose item level is extremely low – even below that of normal dungeons) This brings with it two problems!
The first problem is the necessary equipment item. Whether you as an engineer in Dragonflight really want to carry one of the two possible Ingi items depends on the quality of the remaining loot. Anyone who is in raids or high-level Mythic-Plus dungeons will in most cases have significantly better items, unless they invest an incredible amount of time in their professions to produce high-quality products.
The second problem is the tinkering itself. Even if you carry both Ingi items, you can currently use a maximum of two of the tinkering. But there is a lot more tinkering, all of which make sense in certain situations. We can root opponents, turn invisible, deal damage or charge at opponents. So we have to make a decision. Constantly changing would be an option, but could be expensive. Because the tinkering is quite expensive to produce and is destroyed when removed – just like a gem. Here is a list of the existing tweaks:
Originally there was also the possibility that non-Ingis could also get a Battle Rezz. However, the item deceptively real jumper cable has been quietly removed from the list of Ingi items. Although it is still in the data of WoW (buy now ): Dragonflight, so it could be made available in other ways, but at this point engineers can no longer craft it.
