WoW Dragonflight: Arrival at the Dragon Islands
When World of Warcraft Dragonflight launches in late November, you’ll be whisked away to the Dragon Isles via airship in a stylish introduction reminiscent of the Mists of Pandaria intro. In general, the zones of the new location present themselves as a kind of best of past expansions with many flashbacks such as the Tierra del Fuego or the burning Mount Hyjal, the lush, deep green Jade Forest or the frosty regions of Northrend with its cuddly Tuskarr. For this special we pulled out the camera again and show you the entire intro up to the start of the Dragonflight campaign.
Your start in Dragonflight
If you log in at the start of Dragonflight, Ebyssian (Horde) or Wrathion (Alliance) will already be waiting for you with the auto quest “The Dragon Isles Await”. In Orgrimmar and Stormwind, there will be a few recruiting quests before you fly to the Dragon Islands, which will serve to slow down the expected large number of players. Here you will also receive initial information about what has happened.

Then it’s off to the docks of your capital, where the airship to the Dragon Islands awaits. Here, too, the stream of players is stretched out again, because the airship transports passengers only every 5 minutes, which is now conveniently indicated by a timeline at the tower. When you arrive on the Dragon Islands on the so-called Wild Coast, regardless of the proto-dragon attack and the destruction taking place there, the campaign with rescue and collection quests continues at a leisurely pace in order to further throttle the flow of players.
You can already find it at the outpost on the Wild Coast all professional teachers. Take the opportunity to upgrade your professions so you can start gathering and building right away. Also, there is the first one flight master. Despite dragon riding, activating the flight masters is important for comfortable travel across the huge zones, because regular flying will only be unlocked in a later patch.

The Dragonscale Expedition
Below is the original lore synopsis of what happened during the intro:
The black dragon Ebyssian has summoned you to Orgrimmar (Stormwind) in his face form as Spiritwalker Ebonhorn (Wrathion). There he offered the Council of Horde (Alliance) Alexstrasza’s invitation to join the dragonflights on the Dragon Isles.
The Council of Horde (Alliance) appointed Naleidea Riverglow as co-leader of the Dragonscale Expedition, a joint Horde and Alliance venture aimed at exploring the Dragon Isles. Together you gathered the many scholars, craftsmen and researchers who should ensure the success of the expedition to the Dragon Islands.
While preparing for the flight to the Dragon Isles, Archmage Khadgar brought troubling news. Raszageth, a powerful storm proto-drake, leads the primalists against the dragonflights.
You flew to the Dragon Isles with Naleidea and the Dragonscale Expedition on the Daredevil Dragonscale, a new airship set aside for this adventure.
Upon arriving on the Awakening Coast, you found that proto-drakes had overrun the expedition’s landing site. In rescuing the expedition members, you had to fend off the proto-drakes and secure the dragonscale expedition’s camp at the nearby Wingrest Embassy. When you arrived at the Wingrest Embassy, you were greeted by an eager Draconid cadet named Sendrax. Wrathion and the other dragons were nowhere to be seen.
