Tests for Gotham Knights: Could go much better for Batman's successor

from Oliver Jaeger
One day before the release, Gotham Knights from Warner Bros. was given to the specialist press, which gave their verdict on the new Batman-related superhero game. The result shows: Both on PC and on consoles, Gotham Knights cannot necessarily convince and only gets a mixed average rating.

This week is making a name for itself with the release of a number of games that have been hotly anticipated by fans in the lead-up. Action-adventure A Plague Tale: Requiem was released earlier this week, followed a few days later by Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, another PC port of Sony’s popular titles.

Tomorrow is then the next promising candidate with Gotham Knights in the starting blocks, the player for 60 euros on the PC (via Steam e.g. B.) and for 75 euros each on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S can approve. But before that, as usual, the experts from the media landscape threw their scrutiny on the new title from DC’s Batman franchise – only this time without Batman, but with other protagonists.

Gotham Knights with first reviews: It doesn’t seem to work without Batman

As is well known, the final scores from the reviews of the trade press are compiled on the Metacritic website and an average rating is calculated. So far, the Playstation 5 version of Gotham Knights has received the most reviews (51 reviews so far), followed by the Xbox Series X/S (22 reviews so far) and the PC version (11 reviews so far). For the general overall assessment, however, this plays a subordinate role, since the meta scores differ only marginally from one another.

At Gotham Knights, meanwhile, the positive and mediocre reviews are roughly balanced. The PS5 edition currently has 26 positive, 23 mixed and 2 negative ratings. Of these, three critics gave the open-world action-adventure scores of at least 90 points, followed by a conspicuous number of ratings of 80 points.
