Naughty Dog promises to release more of its games on PC

Naughty Dog sees a future for its games on PC after the release of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. In recent years, PlayStation has steadily moved towards PC to grow its audience.

The strategy seems to be to release games years after their release on PlayStation, once game sales have slowed down a bit or when a sequel or other product is about to launch on consoles. It allows Sony to double sales and possibly get gamers interested in other upcoming projects and sequels, possibly getting them to buy a console if there’s enough hype.

One of the biggest PlayStation teams, Naughty Dog, has just released Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for PC. It’s the studio’s first PlayStation-exclusive game released on PC and it looks like it won’t be the last. The studio has already confirmed that it is working on bringing The Last of Us Part I to PC at some point, which appears to be part of a larger plan for the platform.

Naughty Dog published a blog post pretty massive about what he’s learned while working on a PC game and promised there’s more to come, apparently outside of The Last of Us Part I, but also noted that PS5 is his main development platform. It looks like Naughty Dog will even build their games with PC ports in mind.

“The PC release of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is a transformational turning point for Naughty Dog”said Naughty Dog. “Not only do we have another chance to celebrate our beloved franchise, but to introduce it to so many new players. In doing so, we set the stage for Naughty Dog to deliver high-quality games on PlayStation 5, with the option of a PC release. also, with an understanding of how to meet the different needs of both audiences now and in the future.”

At this time, it’s unclear what other titles Naughty Dog may bring to PS5. It’s possible that The Last of Us Part II will hit the platform or some other major title. You can read our full review for PC by following this link.
