Minecraft: 500 players have been building a huge city for 11 years – you can even try out the map

Minecraft is known for the creativity of its players. Now a user has presented a huge project. Behind it is the huge city of Greenfield, which you can even discover for yourself.

The Minecraft game is considered a sandbox for creative players, because you can do whatever you feel like doing in the world:

• You can explore the big map and search for treasures.
• Or you fight dark monsters and climb into the depths.
• Alternatively, you build your own buildings or even a whole city.

The third option took a diligent group of players and built a huge city. And now the next big update has been presented. If you don’t know the map yet, you should definitely try it out.

In the city of Greenfield, every building is fully equipped

What is this card? On the product page, the developers themselves state that Greenfield is “arguably one of the most complete and detailed cities [ist]that currently exist in Minecraft.

• The map consists of thousands of buildings, all of which also have an interior.
• The city is designed on a 1:1 scale, 1 block equals 1 meter. This gives you the feeling of walking in a real city.
• The city consists of a number of details: there is a large stadium, an airport and a train station and large residential areas.

Is the project finished yet? No, according to the project page, the city is currently 20% complete. With map.greenfieldmc.net you can get an overview of the huge map and will find that large areas are still free on the outskirts of the city. So the people behind the huge city still have work to do.

How long have you been working on it? The city of Greenfield celebrated its birthday in 2011. Since then, fans have been working on the huge project. It’s now 11 years. The last big update Greenfield v0.5.4 with the big airport was released on October 15, 2022. Also, almost 3000 new houses, 7 new districts, activities, shopping and more content have been packed into the latest update.
