Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is said to be getting a new Resurgence map
Call of Duty: Warzone fans can look forward to a new Resurgence map for Warzone 2.0. At least that’s what a leak from the well-known insider TheGhostOfHope suggests. We summarize the details on this.
A few weeks before the official release date of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, the rumor mill is busy. According to a recent leak, the developers are apparently planning to revise the resurgence map, which should appear in mid-2023. A paid map package is also said to appear in the same year.
Well-known support studios involved in the development of Resurgence 2.0
The well-known leaker @TheGhostOfHope claims to have learned from an internal source that the Canadian development studio Beenox is working with the Toys for Bob team on a new version of the Resurgence map. Among other things, Beenox was involved in the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and is responsible for the map Rebirth Island in Warzone. According to TheGhostOfHope, Infinity Ward and Raven Software will also be involved in the development of the new map, with Infinity Ward responsible for the story and Raven providing advice on the gameplay.
Details of how the revised version of Resurgence will look exactly are not yet available. Based on the previous map design, at least rough conclusions can be drawn: Compared to the normal map, Resurgence in Warzone is smaller and does without the Gulag. Getting kills reduces the respawn timer, while the location of a team losing members is revealed to all other players. The developers will probably use this game principle again when revising the map.
In addition, TheGhostOfHope claims on Twitter that Infinity Ward’s paid DLC for Modern Warfare 2, which has already been announced for 2023, will contain a kind of best-of popular maps from older parts of the series. Whether this package also includes innovations for Warzone 2.0 remains to be seen.
