A Newegg customer recently bought a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 through the retail store, but instead of getting a graphics card, he got weights.

A Reddit user using the username, u/NuclearInnardsBeep, recently purchased a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card from Newegg. Upon receiving the package, the user discovered that instead of a graphics card, the box had two sets of weights to trick customers into thinking there was a real product inside. What makes this worse is that instead of responding to your client, the user account appears to have been locked out.

This is not the first time we have heard of such a scam. We have seen some customers buy new graphics cards and end up with different graphics cards or even products and items that don’t even represent a real graphics card like Sand.

The fact that this happened several months after Newegg apologized to its customers for such issues and promised to “Provide the best customer experience” shows that there is still a lot of work to be done at Newegg to vet products and make sure customers get the product in perfect condition.
