The new Call of Duty has multiple launch and download dates. Here is all the important information so that you are prepared for the launch of MW2. When will Modern Warfare and Warzone 2 be released in Germany?
When does Modern Warfare 2 start? Modern Warfare 2 has three release dates. The official launch of MW2 is on Friday, October 28th – the most important date for now. But a short time later, Warzone 2 and Season 1 in Call of Duty MW2 start. Here are the most important release dates for 2022:
- October 20, 2022, 7 p.m. – Modern Warfare 2 Early Access (Campaign)
- October 28, 2022, 7 p.m. – Release of Modern Warfare 2
- November 16, 2022, 7 p.m. – Release of Warzone 2
These are the important times on October 28th: When Modern Warfare 2 celebrates its release on October 28th, the servers should come online for you around 6 a.m. The time is not yet official, except for the PC. The launch on Steam and Battle.net is 6 a.m. on Friday. However, we assume that PlayStation and Xbox will follow suit.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – All preload, download and disk space
Is there a preload? Yes. You can save time on release day and download Modern Warfare 2 in advance. This is a huge advantage, especially for residents of rural areas. However, there are different download days depending on the edition and platform. Here are all times relevant for the preload.

Modern Warfare 2: Content from the new Call of Duty – Multiplayer, Warzone 2 and Spec Ops

If you have a really powerful computer, you can also enjoy the new CoD in Ultra 4k and with Ultrawide support. The PC for MW2 must then meet these system requirements.
Do you need PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold? yes and maybe You actually need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play MW2’s multiplayer. Active Xbox Live Gold subscription required on Xbox. It is currently not known whether you need a paid subscription for Warzone 2. Neither PS+ nor Xbox Gold was required for the predecessor.
Is Modern Warfare 2 in Xbox Game Pass? No, the new Call of Duty MW2 is not included in the Xbox Game Pass at release. It is currently not known whether the game will eventually go into subscription.
