Bayonetta Voice Actress Confirmed Bloomberg Coverage Of Salary Dispute With PlatinumGames

Bayonetta 3 will have the Trinity Masquerade Edition

Following the controversy surrounding the payment dispute between the developer platinumgames and voice actress Hellena Taylor, things haven’t stopped. Taylor has confirmed Jason Schrier’s recent report on Bloomberg about how much the studio had offered to pay Taylor to reprise her role as Bayonetta in the upcoming Bayonetta 3.

In a new series of tweets, Taylor has explained that the initial offer she received from PlatinumGames totaled $10,000 to play Bayonetta. Negotiating with Hideki Kamiya, the studio returned Taylor with a total offer of up to $15,000. Taylor turned down the second offer, after which PlatinumGames came back to Taylor with a new offer after 11 months: $4,000 for a single session, which appears to be for a cameo.

Taylor’s tweets line up pretty well with Schrier’s reports, and the 11-month period during which PlatinumGames was silent was likely due to the studio opting to go with another voice actress for the role. In her tweets, Taylor also goes on to mention that Bayonetta it is a $450 million franchise. This number is highly suspicious, since Bayonetta it’s a niche franchise, and its sales figures hardly indicate it’s been as successful as Taylor is implying.

Bayonetta 3 It will have the renowned Jennifer Hale as the new voice of the protagonist Bayonetta, and will arrive on Nintendo Switch on October 28.
