Factorio: what does the October update bring?

Factorio: Developers annoy Russian players with erroneous price increase

Also in October, the development strategy game Factorio gets a new update from the developers. Patch 1.1.70 mainly focuses on fixing bugs reported by users on the official Factorio forum.

The development strategy game Factorio has been quiet for a while. The game was released in Early Access in 2020 after almost four years. This June, however, the developers reported back with a new patch. Since then, the title has received regular updates again. After the developers at Wube Software had already focused on fixing bugs in the game with the September update, the October update 1.1.70 continues in the same way.

Update 1.1.70 again with many bug fixes

In addition to the bug fixes that were found with the help of the community, the new patch 1.1.70 also includes other modding functions and script adjustments. However, the rest of the new update focuses entirely on bug fixes. For example, incorrect sound settings were fixed when there was no configuration file. Also fixed the crash when teleporting spider vehicles with burner power sources between different surfaces. Other crashes related to mods have also been fixed.

In addition, the Spider remote could lose connection once the Spider switched surfaces. In addition, it could happen that sounds were played synchronously if the option was not set to automatically pause the game when research was completed. However, if players hit the pause button right as the research was completed, all sounds from the labs would be synced and played extra loud. These bugs have also been fixed with the new patch.

The developers at Wube Software announced an extension for Factorio last year. When this will appear and what it will be called is not yet known. As the studio stated, they decided against smaller DLC packages. The game will instead receive a single, large expansion.
