Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 can’t disable crossplay on Xbox and PC

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Review GamersRD2222

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 of Infinity Ward has finally hit the market worldwide, following an early launch campaign for those who pre-ordered the game digitally. Problems are already cropping up though, specifically with multiplayer. Many have reported that cross-platform play cannot be disabled for Xbox and PC platforms.

So while console players must deal with cheaters, PC gamers will have to deal with their opponents who have generous aim assist, as various Reddit posts have shown. It’s especially annoying since PlayStation gamers can choose to only matchup with PS4 and PS5 instead of other platforms.

As of now, there is no in-game option to disable crossplay for Xbox and PC. However, Xbox gamers can do this at the system level by going to the Settings menu, navigating to “Communication and Multiplayer” and blocking players off of Xbox Live. Unfortunately, this will disable crossplay for all titles. Infinity Ward is expected to add an in-game option for the same on PC and Xbox.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out now for all major consoles and PC. You can read our review at this link.
