Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Xbox cover in Canada promotes the shooter as a PlayStation bestseller

There was a minor faux pas with the packaging of the Xbox version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in Canada.

On the back of the cover, the shooter is unceremoniously touted as a PlayStation bestseller.

One word changes everything

At the top of the back cover is the following sentence in English: “The best-selling Franchise on Xbox.”

So far, so right. Directly below is the same sentence in French, but with PlayStation instead of Xbox at the end.

For one or the other maybe a small collector’s item. It can be assumed that publisher Activision will fix the error in future editions.

In a way, it ties in with the recent spat between Microsoft and Sony over Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

Sony fears that the takeover of the publisher and thus also the Call of Duty series will have disadvantages for its platform. Meanwhile, Microsoft says it wants to keep the series on the PlayStation for a few more years after the takeover.
