CoD MW2: Unlock MP5 and Setup – How to get the Lachmann MP

CoD MW2 Lachmann Platform

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 offers a wide variety of weapons for players to unlock and use in battle. One of them, however, particularly appealed to the soldiers. The MP5 variant of MW2 – Lachmann SMG. We’ll show you how to get them and what setup goes with them.

How do I unlock the MP5? The notorious MP5 also exists in MW2, but it is known there under the name “Lachmann-MP”.

This cannot be unlocked immediately at the beginning, but must be unlocked in Waffenschmied 2.0 via the “Lachmann & Meer platform”. To get a better overview of its activation, you can proceed as follows:

  • Go to your weapons in the menu
  • Select a loadout and then go onto your primary weapon
  • Press “Switch” and then select the Battle Rifles branch
  • There is the “Lachmann-762”, now you click on the associated platform
    • You should now see a detailed description of the necessary activations.
This is how you unlock the Lachmann SMG (MP5).

To unlock the MP5, you must reach rank 16 with your account level. Only then will you get access to the Lachmann-762 – a single-shot combat rifle.

Once you’ve got your hands on the Lachmann Manufactory Battle Rifle, you need to level the 762 model to level 13. Then you unlock the Lachmann-556 – an assault rifle. The 556 model must then be leveled to level 12. When done, the Lachman SMG will be automatically unlocked.

Why is the MP5 so good? This submachine gun has already emerged as an all-purpose weapon in many CoD offshoots. With the right attachments, you not only benefit from a relatively long range, but also from solid stability and a high rate of fire with decent “time to kill” values.

Compared to the MW2 beta, when the Lachmann SMG was considered the best weapon, the submachine gun doesn’t seem to be at the top – but it’s a solid and strong choice.

That was our short guide to the MP5 or Lachmann MP from MW2. What do you think of this MP in the new CoD offshoot? Can she keep up on the battlefield? Let us know in the comments!
