Thanks to Joyn, the German streamer scene could be about to change. The service could soon be new competition for Twitch, that’s known.
Hamburg – Twitch still rules the world’s streaming landscape with an iron hand. Although there are also live streams on sites like YouTube and Facebook, the platform bought by Amazon has been the undisputed top dog for years. That could change soon, however. According to rumours, ProSieben of all people could enter the live stream business with its Joyn service. If that should come true, some of the biggest German streamers should soon turn their backs on Twitch.
Joyn: Competition for Twitch? Streaming platform could soon accommodate major German streamers
That happened: Joyn has been a fixture among streaming services for three years now. Originally founded by ProSiebenSat.1 Media and Discovery, the brand is now firmly in ProSiebenSat.1’s hands, and the media company may well have big plans for Joyn. Instead of continuing to run as a free Netflix counterpart with advertising, Joyn has now cast his eyes on the German streamer scene.
This is how it could go with Joyn: Apparently, Joyn could soon become a new home for big German live streamers like MontanaBlack or Knossi. Initial assumptions suggest that the company wants to start its own division for live streams. After the recent complete takeover of Joyn by ProSiebenSat.1, it was said that the service was to be “largest freely accessible platform for premium video content in German-speaking countries” Remove.
Knossi and MontanaBlack soon on Joyn and away from Twitch?
That’s how it is with Monte and Knossi: The timing for such an entry into the German streaming scene could not even be wrong for Joyn. Knossi already works closely with ProSieben and Joyn. The big Halloween event Stream and Scream will soon also be running exclusively on Joyn, so it is conceivable that the streamer would migrate completely to Joyn in the long run.
The same applies to MontanaBlack, who always finds harsher words for Twitch. Monte has repeatedly threatened to leave Twitch and stream on another platform – just find the right one. Maybe Joyn will soon be able to offer the right platform for streaming stars like MontanaBlack and Knossi. So far, the company has not commented on the speculation in response to our request.
