God of War Ragnarök will be released next week and even with a transmog system for your armor. After fans have already requested the feature for the predecessor, Santa Monica has now accommodated it in the successor.
Play God of War Ragnarok in your own style
Transmog systems are extremely popular in role-playing games because they allow you to customize your character. This feature allows you to keep the stats of a certain armor but make it look like a different one. The game doesn’t force you into a particular style or expect you to wear ugly armor just because it’s the strongest.
God of War Ragnarök’s Head of Combat Design, Mihir Sheth, confirmed in a live Q&A on Sanata Monica’s official Discord channel that the game is getting the long-requested transmog system.

The question read as follows: “Speaking of armor I like to look good, everyone in the studio knows that about me. Fashion is of course the most important thing for Kratos. I know that one of the wishes for 2018 was the ability to maybe having the stats you want, but giving Kratos the runway look you want. That’s a question from SpiritWolf and a bunch of other people: will there be an armor transmog system?”
Mihir Sheth replied, “The short answer is yes. There is a way to do that… it’s in the game.”
There is no long answer for now, but this is great news anyway. How exactly the transmog system is supposed to work, we will probably find out soon, because the release of the game is already on November 9th. This is where the game comes out for PS4 and PS5.
