FIFA 23: World Cup mode is coming soon - but only with two new stadiums

The Men’s World Cup is coming to FIFA 23 in a few days. After a recent leak, EA has now confirmed that the World Cup mode will start shortly.

As expected, the FIFA 23 World Cup update will be free for all players and coming November 9th for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S appear. EA itself is promising an “authentic re-enactment” of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is taking place at an unusual timeframe this year.

FIFA 23: All information about the World Cup mode

The World Cup update for FIFA 23 contains different game modes that you can play either online or offline. Of course, the focus is on the classic World Cup mode, in which you fight for the coveted World Cup with one of the 32 qualified national teams.

It is up to you whether you follow the original game plan or change the groups. Alternatively, you can switch entire teams and play with Italy, for example, although in reality they will miss the tournament this time.

From November 21st you can then play FIFA World Cup: Live: A special mode in which you replay the real matches of the real World Cup. The event is constantly updated during the group and KO phases, so you always have the latest games to choose from.

Also new is your FIFA World Cup, where you decide on a country and a starting point right from the start. You will then also take part in the World Cup with this team, where the progress made in reality will be shown. But you can influence them in this mode and thus defy the possible elimination.

The stadiums, on the other hand, only have two World Cup atmospheres: only Al Bayt and Lusail will be official World Cup stadiums. The other six stadiums of the World Cup in Qatar are not part of the update.

FIFA World Cup in Ultimate Team

Ultimate Team does not get its own game mode for the FIFA 23 World Cup. Instead, the World Cup update focuses on a total of five campaigns that take place between November 11th and December 23rd, such as EA writes. During this time there will be special team jerseys, graphics, comments and more related to the World Cup.

There will also be 35 very special World Cup FUT Icons and 30 World Cup Heroes. In addition, every player will receive a World Cup Starter Pack at the start of the World Cup campaign, which will be automatically sent to them when they log into the game.
