But better days are ahead for the DC film universe. At least that’s the impression you get when you talk to the CEO of Warner Bros., David Zaslav, listening to a recent investor call. He was more than enthusiastic about the current developments around James Gunn and Peter Safran. We recently reported on the signing of the two in leading positions in the DC Universe.

“We couldn’t be happier to have both of them on board our leadership team. And I’m looking forward to what’s to come. I’ve spent a lot of time with James and Peter over the past few months, talking to both of us about our strategy and long-term plans for the future of DC in TV, animation and film“, according to the CEO. “They have a tremendous vision and plan that drives a more unified creative approach that will allow us to realize the true potential of one of the world’s most iconic brands. Both are currently working very hard on it.“

What’s next?

After recently Black Adam came to theaters and the return of Henry Cavill as super man was also confirmed, the question now arises as to how specifically DC will continue. The more or less positive reviews for the film all around Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson don’t seem to have a particularly big impact on it at the moment. Finally, just recently became a second Black Adam film as good as confirmed. Still, it seems like fans can be excited about the future of many DC brands.
