The goal of the TeamTrees fundraiser in 2019 was to raise $20 million to plant 20 million new trees. Because the project was supported by many other Youtubers, including MrBeast’s collaborator Mark Rober, the donation goal was already exceeded by Christmas 2019. In May 2022, $22 million was handed over to the Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees on private and public land in great need. The goal was to get the trees in the ground by December 2022 – and that goal has now been achieved!

On October 25th, 2022, MrBeast announced on his Twitter channel that the trees are now planted and he shared the TeamTrees overview where you can not only see how many trees have been planted so far, but also where they have been planted. Many trees have landed on the North American continent, but also in Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia, and South America.
The success was also made possible by various large donations. Shopify founder Tobias Lütke, like Tesla boss Elon Musk, digged deep into his pocket and made $1,000,001 million available to support TeamTrees.
