Overwatch 2 players want more chat filters to combat toxicity

Overwatch 2 is now available for free on PC and consoles, GamersRD

After certain phrases were replaced in Overwatch chat over the years as it was used to disparage other players, some fans of Overwatch 2 are waiting for more chat filters to offer broader protection. Some players of the Multiplayer Hero Shooter, they expect more online phrases like “GG EZ” to be replaced through chat filters in a never-ending fight against community toxicity.

Reddit user Ahhshoelay recently made a post asking Activision Blizzard to treat chat messages like “tank/dps/support diff” similar to GG EZ, which has long been replaced by phrases like “what a great game!” Toxicity has been a frequent issue in online gaming, and that became apparent quickly after the release of the first Overwatch, and it’s something that has carried over to Overwatch 2.

While some players Overwatch 2 have picked up “diff” to indicate which team members let them down, Ahhshoelay suggests it’s comparable to children’s playground verbiage. the player of Overwatch 2 fails to provide an example of a proper alternative to the toxic quote, and instead insists that Activision Blizzard should rectify the new lingo like GG EZ did in the original title.

Overwatch 2 It is now available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S. You can read our review at this link.
