CoD: Modern Warfare 2 – Double XP tokens now for all owners of the Vault Edition

CoD: Modern Warfare 2 - Ping system disabled after "wallhack" issues

So who actually gets the Double XP tokens for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2? Because of the confusion caused by this question, Infinity Ward says it’s now available to all Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition buyers, regardless of where you bought it.

Games special editions with special content are more the rule than the exception these days. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, this version is called the Vault Edition. It is available for all platforms and actually has the same content. Only the Double XP tokens were distributed inconsistently. The decisive factor was the purchase in the in-house in-game store. This circumstance apparently caused confusion and probably annoyance among the players, which is why Infinity Ward is now making these bonuses available to all buyers of the Vault Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition: Double XP tokens confused players

“We understand that there has been some confusion over some Vault Edition exclusive in-game awards,” the statement said. Therefore, the decision was made to reward all players who currently own or purchase a version of the MW2 Vault Edition with 10 hours of Double XP Tokens and 10 hours of Double Weapon XP Tokens.

As a result, it doesn’t matter whether you own the Vault Edition for PC, Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X or intend to buy it in the near future when it comes to dusting off the tokens. It is also important to know that the Double XP tokens are not valid indefinitely and should be invested promptly.

Incidentally, weapon tuning is now available again. Infinity Ward had to deactivate this due to a bug, but brought it back into play with Patch 1.08. Wondering how well Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 runs on your PC? Then take a look at our detailed benchmark test.
