Microsoft Flight Simulator: Discover Series Episode 15 highlights helicopters

Activision Blizzard: Phil Spencer pleased with acquisition progress

In this video you will learn what work and challenges Asobo Studio mastered to implement helicopters in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

In a new video, Asobo Studio takes you on the journey from data collection on a real helicopter to implementation in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Sebastian Wloch, Benjamin Rieubland, Sacha Wittorski, and François Rembry use the Guimbal Cabri G2 as an example to show how the records for vehicle art, audio and flight model came about.

In addition to precise image recordings for the reproduction of even the smallest details, great importance was attached to an authentic sound design. For the flight model, completely new technologies had to be built into the Microsoft Flight Simulator, for example a new rotor blade simulation. During development, the team received support from the Guimbal company and a flight school so that the usual high quality could be achieved.

The simulator’s 40th Anniversary Edition will be available on November 11th and will be available free of charge to owners of the game or Xbox Game Pass members.
