Gears of War: Netflix Announces Adult Movie and Animated Series

It’s been a long time since attempts were made to make a Gears of War film. A lot has happened since then and now Netflix is ​​tackling the issue.

The streaming service has announced two projects for the Gears series, and there is a possibility that more will follow.

What is Netflix planning for Gears of War?

As said, Netflix is ​​planning two different Gears projects that were announced to coincide with the series’ 16th anniversary.

On the one hand, we can expect a live-action film that is said to be an adaptation of the “video game saga”.

This will be followed by an animated series for adults. However, many details about the projects are not yet available.

At the same time, however, reference is already made to “the potential” for further implementations, whereby the success of these first two projects should of course play a decisive role.

Why hasn’t there been a film before

Originally, New Line Cinema acquired the rights to adapt it as a live-action film back in 2007. At that time, the year 2009 was planned as the start date, but apparently nothing happened.

We last heard about a possible implementation in 2019. At the time it was said that the project would no longer take place in the same universe as the games.

Now Netflix can try to implement it.
