Nintendo Switch: These are the 10 best-selling games on the Nintendo console

The current Nintendo console has some crackers ready.

In a financial report, Nintendo has now published the 10 best sellers of the Nintendo Switch. First place comes as no surprise to anyone.

It’s a me, Mario

As you might expect, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is on the first place with more than 48.4 million units sold. The new route packs in particular have certainly provided a little boost.

on place 2 is also Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a game that is still very popular. It is currently included approx. 40.2 million Units, but with a little momentum could push Mario Kart off the top step in the years to come.

The bronze medal, so the third place, but the plumber secures it again with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Compared to second place, the gap is a bit bigger here, but the beat ’em up still comes in impressive 29.5 million Units.

The rest of the top ten comes, not surprisingly, from Nintendo or Game Freak and are of course exclusive titles for the switch. Here is an overview of the entire top 10:

As you can see, the staunch mustache wearer has his bumpy nose with 4 games slightly ahead of the Pokémon franchise, which only managed to place 3 editions or generations in the top 10. That Super Mario franchise comes up with considerable 120.7 million. units sold. That’s a lot more than what a plumber usually brings to the woman or man. By the way, number 1, at least in combination with the original Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U, is also up 6th best-selling game ever.

Who is missing?

For example, there’s a little pink ball that doesn’t appear in the list: Kirby. The current offshoot Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the best-selling adventure of the cuddly blob, but with its 5.14 million units sold it is still far from the top ten.

Pokémon Legends Arceus hasn’t made the list yet either, but with a bit of luck it could soon slip to number 10, because with 13.9 million units it’s not far off.

However, the upcoming Pokémon Crimson & Crimson is also a very serious contender for places 1-10. This also applies to the ‘Breath of the Wild’ successor The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which will definitely mess up the list again when it is released in May 2023.
