CoD Warzone 2: The new open-world mode should be like Tarkov – The expert on Twitch etches: “Not even close”

The new Call of Duty: Warzone 2 (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox) will bring a new open world mode to the release on November 16th: DMZ. For months, the mode has been compared to the survival shooter Escape from Tarkov. Now there was initial information about the mode and an assessment from the shooter expert on Twitch, from shroud.

What do we know about the mode so far? DMZ will be a new mode in Warzone 2 that players play as an alternative to the well-known Battle Royale mode. DMZ has been compared to the hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov or Battlefield 2042’s PvEvP mode Hazard Zone.

It was said that you start on a large map and have to fight your way to the exit, other players and NPCs wanted to prevent that.

This is the new information: Activision Blizzard has now provided more information about DMZ on November 9th. Call of Duty invited some big streamers to an event in Los Angeles.

By the way: Once again DrDisrespect had to stay outside and spat poison and bile. Activision Blizzard’s new “PR team” just doesn’t have it. But many other big shooter streamers from YouTube and Twitch were there: shroud, DrLupo, Symfuhny and more.

Even before the match, the players set up a loadout of weapons and decided what they risk. That seems to be DMZ’s ultimate gimmick, you always have to weigh risk versus reward.

Because when they die, they lose everything they have with them.

There were technical difficulties at the start of the event:

In a match, DrLupo was able to use a special item to open a building, a “Stronghold”, in which powerful NPCs guard strong equipment and loot. DrLupo was instantly killed by soldiers carrying a shield, like Dotsports reported.

He also failed when attempting to bring the stolen equipment to safety: the arrival of a helicopter alerted the whole area and Lupo’s team was eliminated again.

What does the upper shooter guy say? Streamer shroud was at the event and spoke about the supposed similarity to Escape from Tarkov. shroud is something of the absolute authority on Twitch when it comes to shooters:

It’s not even close to Tarkov. You can’t even say it’s like Tarkov, but casual because it’s not like that either. It’s its own thing, and it wants to be its own thing too.

Anyway, Shroud didn’t really like the DMZ. He says he’s a little disappointed. He lacks the hardness of Tarkov, he would have liked DMZ to be more hardcore. It reminds him too much of the “loot money” mode from Warzone 1. He misses the “relentless” that Escape from Tarkov offers him.
