In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, an annoying bug is up to mischief. The error “No supported DXGI adapter found” mostly occurs at startup and prevents you from joining a match. But don’t worry, you can fix the error quickly. MeinMMO explains how it works.

Where does the error occur? Console players can breathe a sigh of relief, because this nasty bug only affects PC players.

But we can reassure you too. Because although the game shows the error message “No supported DXGI adapter”, it is not a hardware problem.

“No supported DXGI adapter found” – solution

The graphics driver is the problem: Check your graphics card driver, it is most likely outdated. However, a newer version is usually available for download.

In many cases, games can also be opened with older driver versions. But if you haven’t updated your drivers for a long time, problems can occur more often. So keep your drivers as up to date as possible.

If your driver is up to date again, the error “No supported DXGI adapter found” should no longer appear. Incidentally, this is not the only error that is currently up to mischief in Call of Duty. A bug makes a mode in CoD MW2 almost unplayable – players think that could be intentional.

How can I update my graphics card driver? This is quite simple. Gone are the days when you had to manually compare version numbers to find the right driver. Nowadays, the graphics card manufacturers offer management software that regulates the downloads for you.

Depending on the manufacturer of your graphics card, there are differences:

  • Nvidia graphics card: GeForce Experience
  • AMD Radeon graphics card: AMD software: Adrenalin Edition

If the program doesn’t automatically prompt you to update your graphics driver, look under the “Drivers” tab. You can start the installation from there.

Even if you have a brand new graphics card, it can be worth checking your drivers regularly. Because especially for new hardware, there is new software at very short intervals.
