Dragon Age: Absolution (Netflix): New trailer and release date for the animated series on Netflix

Dragon Age: Absolution (Netflix) (Filme & Serien) von Netflix

While the next Dragon Age game is still a while away, fans of the role-playing game series will soon be getting some other supplies. Dragon Age: Absolution launches on Netflix on December 9th.

The animated series is the product of South Korean studio Red Dog Culture House in collaboration with Bioware. After the series was announced a few months ago, there is now a trailer that gives you a first glimpse of the story.

Dragon Age: Absolution – That’s what the series is about

As the name suggests, Dragon Age: Absolution is not a retelling of the games. Instead, it’s about a new story that focuses on the elf Miriam. In Tevinter, she joins forces with other mercenaries to rob one of the powerful men of the realm. Not surprisingly, however, the plan goes awry and from now on the elf is only concerned with bare survival.

Thankfully, Miriam, who is voiced by Kimberly Brooks, is not alone in her struggle. She gets help from former freedom fighter Fairbanks (Matt Mercer), from the dwarf Lacklon (Keston John), from the magician Hira (Sumalee Montano) and from the Qunari Qwydion (Ashly Burch).

In addition, a few well-known characters from the games can also be recognized in the trailer. Cassandra can be seen briefly in one scene, who already played a role in Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Only one season planned

Dragon Age: Absolution is currently scheduled for one season on Netflix. It will consist of six episodes, each lasting 30 minutes, and will be available to view in full on Netflix from December 9th.

Whether there will be more seasons after that will probably depend on the success. After all, in terms of video games, things are definitely moving forward: Dragon Age Dreadwolf has recently reached the alpha phase, but a release will not take place in the near future.
