In December, Chapter 3 of Fortnite ends with a big live event. What is known so far about Fracture, the finale of the chapter, we will show you here.
Cary, North Carolina – After just under a year, Chapter 3 of Fortnite is coming to an early end. Traditionally, a chapter of Battle Royale ends with a grand live event that marks the transition to the era to come. There will also be an event like this this year, only it will no longer be called “The End” but will be called “Fracture”. Here we take a closer look at what developer Epic Games might have planned for Fracture.

Fortnite: Fracture Live Event – Start and duration for the Chapter 3 Finale
When does Fracture take place? Fracture kicks off on December 3, 2022. Epic Games recently shared the date for the event on social media, making the end of Chapter 3 in Fortnite known for the first time. In Germany, the whole thing starts on December 3rd at 10:00 p.m. You will no longer be able to play normal matches from half an hour before the start of the event. You can already find a lobby for Fracture from this point onwards and don’t have to wait long at the start.

How long will Fracture last? It’s best to assume that Fracture will again be a relatively short event. Fortnite’s recent live events have never been very long, for example Collision and the Chapter 2 Closing Event lasted 11 and 12 minutes respectively. Presumably, Fracture will also fall into a similar period of time. So don’t expect a sprawling epic as the introduction to Chapter 4. We see between 10 minutes and a quarter of an hour as more realistic, although we would of course be happy about an event of greater magnitude.

What could happen in Fracture? It looks like some major event will happen in Fracture that will turn the reality of Fortnite upside down. Fortnite insider IFireMonkey recently shared previously unused voicelines on Twitter prophesying just that. Apparently, the Zero Point should play a role in this, which is practically the source of the reality in which Fortnite plays. Clues indicate that players will reactivate the Zero Point in Fracture, which could spell the end of the previous reality.
In any case, something big has to happen in Fracture, or at least it has to be big enough to cause major map changes in Fortnite again. Following Fracture, the game’s servers will be offline for a few hours. As soon as the multiplayer servers are available again, Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 will start. The new chapter thus begins a whole year earlier than previously assumed.
