We have summarized the most important information from the interview between Ion Hazzikostas and raider.io for you.
WoW Game Director Ion Hazzikostas in a raider.io interview
- Mythical raids should be so difficult to balance at the beginning that the best guild in the world can stand out from the second best.
- At the start of the heroic and mythical raids, the mythical plus system will also be available in full and without limitation. The simultaneous release is mainly due to the following holidays. However, it is hoped that this model will be retained in the future.
- Cross-faction guilds are still on the developers’ plan and should be implemented.
- There will also be no global release of the raids in WoW: Dragonflight. These will continue to be opened in a staggered manner depending on the ID reset of the respective region.
- The Fateful Raids were not without problems. But in the eyes of the developers, they were a success and definitely better than just visiting the Mausoleum of the First for three more months.
- There are no concrete plans to revamp the Hall of Fame in Dragonflight.
- Anyone who consistently successfully completes level 20 dungeons should have the same item level in the long term as someone who regularly defeats bosses in mythical raids.
- There are currently no concrete plans to adjust the Mythic Plus dungeon reward system.
- As for the return of old dungeons, Mists of Pandaria is the internal frontier. Earlier dungeons no longer correspond visually to the status that one would like to see in WoW.
- WoW: Dragonflight was developed in a hybrid environment. A few hundred employees come into the office every day. But many also work from home – sometimes thousands of kilometers away. Switching to virtual meetings was a logical step and turned out to be an advantage.
Are you looking forward to the release of WoW: Dragonflight or don’t you want to get really excited yet? Admittedly, the pre-event is not very spectacular and cannot generate a lot of hype. But at least we can experiment a little with the new Rufer class and use the pre-event to level up. Or we go hunting for old mounts whose drop rates have been massively increased.
