The Dragon Ball manga has been on hiatus for a few months now. Which, given the nasty cliffhanger at the end of the last story arc, can be pretty mean. But it has long been clear that, fortunately, it should continue this year. Now we have an exact appointment and a date when the next story part starts and it finally goes on. Maybe we already know what it could be about.

So far, the only answer was that it would still be the case in 2022. According to an older announcement, both the end of the Granolah arc and the beginning of the next chapter of the story should take place this year. Now we finally know when exactly.

The official Dragon Ball website eliminates all speculation and puts an end to the wait. Now we know when the manga will finally continue with Chapter 88:

  • On December 21st the new Dragon Ball chapter will be released in Japan. It will probably be available in the rest of the world on December 20th.

It could be about: There are no correct references to the plot and the action yet. But instead, a picture of Son-Goten and Trunks is emblazoned on the website. But not just any old one, but one in this look:

So apparently standing Trunks and Son-Goten at the heart of events, at least for a period of time. Judging by their outfits, the events from the last movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero could also play an important role in this.

Then of course there’s the nasty cliffhanger at the end of the Granolah story arc. If it means anything, we’d assume Freeza will be back as a villain, stronger than ever.
