Resident Evil 4 Remake: Rating implies in-game purchases
The remake will appear in a few months Capcom’s Survival horror classic Resident Evil 4. Fans of the series – and especially the fourth part – already know what to expect in terms of content and gameplay and yet it will be some innovations give.
The American authority Entertainment Software Ratings Board (short: ESRB) recently published theirs Age Rating Report of the cult shocker from which one or the other new detail emerges.
Does Resident Evil 4 Remake include in-game purchases?
According to the ESRB, the RE4 remake “In-Game Purchases” for PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as the Xbox Series. How exactly the microtransactions will be usedcannot be inferred from the report.
However, some fans are speculating about one Connection of the microtransactions and a possible multiplayer mode, as these would make sense here in particular. Capcom itself has not yet commented on the multiplayer theory, the ESRB report and the in-game purchases.

More details emerge from the report, but they shouldn’t come as a surprise. Because of the Depiction of blood, intense violence and the coarse languagethe age rating has been set to 17M (Mature Content).
There is one next to it detailed listing of weaponsthe Leon S Kennedy used in battle. In detail, this means: From pistols and shotguns to machine guns and explosives, everything is included. The report further states:
“Some weapons/attacks result in decapitation and/or dismemberment of enemies, along with large splatters of blood. Enemy attacks (e.g. chainsaws, tentacles) can also cause Leon to be decapitated, blown apart, or impaled. Disemboweled animals and mutilated corpses are depicted in some environments.”
