WoW WotLK Classic Phase 2: There is only one question – when?

WoW WotLK Classic Phase 2: There is only one question - when?

There is no official answer to the big question that classic heroes of WoW ask themselves: When does phase 2 of WoW WotLK Classic start, which is synonymous with opening the Ulduar Legendary Raid? The first phase of the classic Wrath of the Lich King has been running since the end of September, so it has been almost two months. This has given Northrend adventurers plenty of time to explore the new continent, reach level 80, and get hold of the best items for each slot. And because phase 1 “only” consists of the raids Obsidian Sanctum, Eye of Eternity and Naxxramas, ambitious raiders in particular are now wondering when Ulduar will continue.

Rumor: mid-January 2023 in phase 2?

A schedule called “Game Launches & Events by Required Readiness Level”, which is said to come from Activision Blizzard and has been circulating for some time, says that the second phase of WoW (buy now ) WotLK Classic could start on January 9, 2023 (in our case on January 10, 2023 at 00:00). The influencer Solheim Gaming, among others, has accepted the rumor and checked its consistency – that perhaps not everything about it is kosher can be quickly seen from the fact that there was no further season of the championship on November 17, 2022, on the contrary. Namely, on November 15, it was announced that the WoW Classic SdM servers will be closed in February 2023.

Nevertheless, Solheim Gaming suspects that January 9th or 10th, 2023 could make sense, especially with a global launch to make the Race to World First in Ulduar fair in all regions. By the way, there was already one of these “Game Launches & Events” leaks this year, and most of the data was correct at the time, as it has now turned out in retrospect.

Realistically, we probably won’t hear any news about Phase 2 of WotLK ahead of the release of WoW: Dragonflight on November 29th, 2022, simply because all of Blizzard’s marketing and PR efforts will initially focus on the launch of the new expansion and the start of Season 1 on December 14th, 2022.
