Simon “Ghost” Riley is a popular character who has appeared in several Call of Duty games. Ghost also plays a role in the new Modern Warfare 2. The character who never takes off his skull mask has now apparently been unmasked by Dataminer. Some fans are now downright shocked.

Few characters from the Call of Duty franchise are as popular as Simon “Ghost” Riley. The soldier has appeared in several CoD games and also accompanies users in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which was released on October 28. Now the fans of the character must be strong. Dataminers apparently found Ghost’s face in the game data. According to some users, the soldier who never takes off his skull mask in the games doesn’t look as cool as he always seems in the shooter.

Ghost looks ‘like a loser’ according to players

Simon “Ghost” Riley is enjoying renewed popularity on social media these days. Some images of the character from the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are currently being used, especially on Twitter, as “Ghost Staring” or “Ghost Gaze” memes. Fans like to use screenshots of the staring character in response to messages or individual comments.

However, the images that have now been released seem to put a damper on Ghost’s popularity. Dataminers now want to have found the soldier’s face. Ghost himself never takes off his skull mask in the games. This led to some players having their own expectations of their hero’s face, which the dataminer images now appear to have shattered.

According to the dataminers, instead of a tough guy with a three-day beard and scars, the cool mask hides an everyday face. “He looks like a loser,” wrote one user on Twitter. Another compared Ghost to the villain Syndrome from the Disney film The Incredibles. “It’s not what I expected,” wrote another fan. “I expected at least eyebrows, a beard and a scar on his face. I hope this is just a placeholder and not his real face.”
