Pokémon Crimson & Crimson: “It took over 5 Gyms on its own” – Starter is considered overpowered in Special Mode

Players have been able to play Pokémon Crimson & Crimson for a week. But one Pokémon already has a reputation for being far too strong.

You can play Pokémon Crimson & Crimson on the Nintendo Switch since November 18, 2022. Generation 9 also comes with a whole bunch of new pocket monsters to catch in the world of Paldea. However, a certain Pokemon type did not make it into the official game.

But one Pokémon is causing a lot of excitement right now. Because the pocket monster is supposed to make you too strong and destroy a unique challenge. MeinMMO tells you what it’s all about.

The starter “Krokel” is considered too strong by some players

Who is it about exactly? If you start Pokémon Crimson or Crimson on your switch, you have to choose one of three starters at the beginning with which you want to start in the Spanish-inspired world. You can choose from:

• Felori looks like a cat and is a Grass-type Pokémon
• Kwaks, looks like a duck and relies on the element of water.
• Krokel, looks like a crocodile and is a Fire-type Pokémon.

But Krokel, the Fire-type Pokémon, is now causing quite a stir among a whole range of players. Because that seems far too strong for many people. Especially if you want to take part in a specific challenge in Pokémon Crimson or Crimson.

What is this challenge? The Pokémon games are anything but challenging for many. Because of this, players set themselves challenges to make the game harder and more complex. This challenge is called “Nuzlocke” mode:

• Here, for example, there is the catch rule that forces you to only catch the first Pokemon that you encounter in an area
• Another rule is: If a Pokémon is KO’d, i.e. has 0 life points, then you must either release it or lock it in a PC box forever.

Now what’s the problem with Krokel? The fire starter Krokel makes Nuzlocke mode way too easy. For example, the user “PokemonChallenges” writes on Twitter: “It [Krokel] took over 5 arenas alone” and all players who are Nuzlocke fans should ban the starter:

The user calls the fire starter the “most cheated starter in Nuzlocke history.” That would undermine the whole challenge.

Other users also have little “luck” with the new Pokémon games. The game made it into the top 3 on Twitch in just a few days, but there seems to be a nasty trap for streamers here. A well-known streamer has now caught it:
