Slasher version of Bambi: Disney character horror film in the works

Who would not also like to share his childhood with one Horror movie to the Disney classic Bambi let it ruin? Exactly that will soon be possible, because with “Bambi: The Reckoning” a slasher film about the cute fawn from the cartoon is in the works. The horror flick comes from the makers of another childhood-ruining work: the “Winnie the Pooh” reimagining “Blood and Honey.” In it, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet were abandoned by their philanthropist Christopher Robin and reverted to their primal instincts. And that meant that they went murdering and bloodthirsty in search of food. Now one or the other will surely ask how Disney because something like that can be allowed, where the entertainment company is known for its child-friendly content. First details about the film destroy your childhood

You have to be strong now: The horror film producers of “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” have already turned the cute cuddly bear into a bloodthirsty creature. And now they want to repeat the whole massacre with another Disney character. Because with “Bambi: The Reckoning” a slasher to the popular children’s character is planned.

And the film will not be for the faint of heart and even less for your beloved childhood memories: Because in the film Horror-Bambi is lurking for unsuspecting hikers in the wilderness. Although there are no exact story details yet, the title “The Reckoning” suggests a revenge story. Could it be about the hunter who killed Bambi’s mother in the original 1928 film? And will Bambi then become a hunter?

In any case, the creators of the horror flick are pretty sure that something really shocking awaits us here: “The film will be an incredibly dark retelling of the 1928 story that we all know and love. Inspired by the design from the Netflix film ‘The Ritual’, Bambi will be a vicious killing machine lurking in the wilderness. Prepare for rabies on Bambi!”

How can Disney allow this?

For those who don’t know yet: the two horror films of the popular Disney characters are of course not officially produced by Disney. Rather, it is now actually possible for everyone to use the classic cartoon characters and maybe even bring out their own interpretations of the characters. Because the copyrights for the works have expired.

This makes it possible for almost everyone to use the work of AA Milnes, the creator of Winnie the Pooh, for example. However, the license rights to the Disney films have not expired. Therefore, the makers are not allowed to use the Disney version of the yellow bear, so that there is no trouble with the mouse company.

By the way, the Bambi slasher will be a long time coming. So far, the slasher flick is just being planned, with production not scheduled to start until next year. And it may be several months before the finished film hits German cinemas. A release is therefore not to be expected before 2024.
